Yes. They want you to buy their stuff (even if it doesn't hold a candle to banana flavored coffee) and they only want to clean up their own cups after the movie is over. They have a nice slippery slope argument on that. If they allow people to bring in banana flavored coffee, they'd have to allow everything they don't sell, including lasagna and white cheddar popcorn seasoning, and it would be anarchy!

That's capitalism for you. You have to convince them that it'd be more profitable for them to allow your banana flavoured coffee. Explain to them that while you're not buying a drink from them, you are still buying a ticket and that you won't do so unless they let you drink what you want. Or you could try not telling them that you have banana flavoured coffee. I'm sure they won't search you too thoroughly.
