People aren't "believers" or "non-believers". That implies there's something there and we either see it or we don't. We athiests know there's nothing there. And I have lots of friends who are Christians, they just don't discuss religion outside of church. Those that do would be the born-again nutbars. They have to have a cult-like belief in something or they feel like nothing. It's all about being intelligent and having self-esteem. I could care less whether my friend is Jewish, gay, transvestite, Buddist, quadroplegic, or what have you. If I like them, and we get along, and they haven't offended me in some big way, they are my friend. End of story.

well i do personally know some christians and yes i do like them and even love some of them as i have some family members who are christian and some friends as well and we never talk about religion we talk about just about everything but that very rarely does religion come up what i find annoying is how there are so many christians on this forum who are trying to convert people anyway the only times i get annoyed with my friends is when we're watching a football game and the kicker lines up for a game winning field goal and they do the sign of the cross in hopes of hitting the kick rotflmao

Most Christians I know are fairly decent folk. They, like almost everyone else in the world, aren't hugely interested in politics or other people's lives, they just want to be free to make the most of their lives in their own way with a minimum of interference in their lives from others or interference in other's lives from them.
On the other had... I've met parents who threw their 15 year old children out of the house for being gay or lesbian, or forced them into 'Christian Therapy' sessions. I met a woman who openly screamed hate and violence at me and a group of friends when we went to help execute an escape plan for an older friend going through the same thing -- while physically thumping the Bible she had in her hand. I have had a gun held to my face and been asked, "Do you believe in God NOW?" I have had missionaries condemn me to hell and threaten my life, my family, my dog, my my home with violence and hate -- in front of their two small children, and would not leave until I was forced to call the police to have them arrested to get them off my lawn.
I don't fault the many for the few, but the many REALLY need to start speaking up and pointing out that these few are the REAL "Not true Christians."

1. Stop using nonbelievers. Its insulting. I don't care if your religion uses it or not. Just quit it.
2. Yes, all of my family, and my husbands, are Christians. My father-in-law is a Methodist Minister. You know whats interesting? He's a minister and yet he's bright enought to admit that the bible is just a book meant to teach moral stories and is much more polite about religion (he doesn't bring it up unless you do) than the people online. I get along with all of them just fine. But they aren't as pushy as the people online or the people that try to make their religion into secular law or the people that knock on my door in the morning and refuse to take no for an answer.

The only people in my life who are not Christians are my husband and my son. My personal, real life, experience with Christians is nothing like what it is online. People tend to be a bit more bold while online (they can't get hit then lol). I don't mind when anyone I know talks about their personal beliefs. I can discuss it in a civil manner. Now, if they can't discuss it in a civil manner, I simply don't talk to them about it and I make sure they know they are not to discuss with me anymore either. As for relating to me personally... honesty, compassion and a willingness to listen to the other side. =)

Ack!
I like most Christians and don't mind talking with them about God, I find the topic of God and religion fascinating.
No that would suck if my Christian friends didn't talk to me about God.
I still will be an atheist but definately enjoy talking to people about it,
I don't like the fundamentalists thou because their view on science is messed up so I don't talk to people who are Creationists, but Christian Evolutionists are great friends.
I really do try to not talk to Creationists and they are not my friends, thats a personal choice, I find the world view so different that conversation with the creationist has been too unpleasant.

I personally know and like Christians. I think you can be friends with someone and not share their personal beliefs. I keep an open mind if my friends want to discuss God, and I share with them the reasons I feel the way I do. We keep an open dialog, and don't insult anyone for their beliefs. You can't agree with anyone all the time...might as well agree to disagree and maybe learn something along the way.

I have several friends who are Christain. Three more into the religion more then the others. None of us preach onto eachothers beliefs and relate to eachother. Only once in a great while do I find them annoying but thats when I'm feeling moody.

Most of my family and friends are Christians of varying denominations. We get along fine. We don't talk about religion much but when it does come up, I probably offend some of them. I'm sorry for that. I know what I know and I'm not ashamed to talk about it.

I know LOTS of Christians personally. I even used to be one!
Most of my family is Christian, so yeah, I like (love!) them.
The best way for a Christian person to relate to me is to be open minded.
