It is one of those: "Sweetie, does this dress make me look fat?" and you reply: "Oh no, you look amazing!" and she still thinks it makes her look fat? I don't understand why women do this...and I'm a woman! I think that in that circumstance it's not just about the dress...she really thinks badly of her body and her self-esteem needs some help (even the most beautiful women on the face of the planet need a lift sometimes). Instead of getting angry when she doesn't accept the compliment, learn to compliment her even when she's not fishing for them. Hearing that she looks awesome when she's not expecting it will definitely help out.

No, it's not that we'd rather be criticized, but it's usually when we are going through our cycle and feeling fat, or we've had someone make a comment about our looks in a negative way, and that's our way of being reassured that you don't feel that way too. All of us want to (well most of us anyway) look the best we can for ourselves and our men. The reason we don't accept it is because we don't feel the same way that you do. However, I have recently learned myself that when my man compliments me, it's because he means it, and I say thank-you. Most women need to learn that.

Some girls don't have high self esteem, so when you give them a compliment they don't believe you. Here's an example, suppose you tell a girl she looks very pretty. Maybe she doesn't think she is pretty or doesn't feel pretty so she doesn't believe you.
I don't think anyone would rather be criticized. Male or female...

hey just cause we're a little picky on the compliments we get don't be nockN us!!!! no we wouldn't rather be criticized we just want u to continue to tell us we're beautiful and it looks good whatever you say to your women and just play it cool

Any guy knows the answer to this...if she asks if her butt is fat or if she is losing her looks then the answer is ALWAYS NO. Even if she is, you'll be sleeping by yourself if you tell her. Women never ask these questions wanting an honest answer, they are fishing for compliments.
