ok hopefully i can explain this in writing well enough for you to get the idea.

first get some parachute cord, then find a small tree somewhere on the rabbit trail. you need a young sapling that will bend all the way to the ground and then spring back upright.
cut some stakes about 6 inches long with an inverted hook at the top. like an upside down check mark. find a stick that has a small limb growing out of it that you can use for this.
then cut another stick to about 12-15 inches long. these sticks should be about as big around as your thumb. strip the sapling of its limbs and bend it down and tie the cord about a foot or two from the top.
using about 6 feet of cord from the tree tie the long stick to the cord about 3 feet from the tree.
then make a slip loop with the excess cord, or a noose. drive the stakes into the ground about 12 inches apart with the hooks pointing away from the tree. lay your loop on the ground inside of the stakes and hook the straight stick that is tied to the tree under the hooks on the stakes
you then need to little by little trim the hooks so that when the stick is stepped on by a rabbit it will release from the stakes.
the tree will spring up and snare the rabbit.
simply bait and wait

i hope you are able to understand my rambling answer and catch you a mess of rabbit. good luck

Get a cardboard box, a stick, a piece of string, and a carrot. Tie the string to the stick, prop the box up with the stick, put the carrot under the box, and wait for the rabbit to come take the bait.

google rabbit box trap to find plans.

I always preferred using hollow logs instead of nailing a box together

snare traps are easy to make and set, it's basically a noose near food in a path they use, they are cruel but work, a live trap might be better you can kill what you catch or release it
