If you say yes: than surely natural drugs used to self medicate are not wrong based on morality or anything biblically sinful,
but something based on what the law of the land deems wrong.

I believe using medicine is absolutely fine, however... I want to touch on what you said about "natural drugs to self medicate" which may be wrong based on the laws of the land. The Bible clearly states we are to follow the laws of the land, in so much as they do not conflict with God's laws. That being said, we are also told to be "sober" several times throughout the New Testament. We are also told to rid ourselves of things which cause us to sin. (if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out). So aside from the fact that using drugs (prescription pills or street drugs) illegally is sin because it's against the law of the land, you have to ask yourself if it's going to cause you to sin.

I guess so as long as it doesn't lead to sin.

The thing to remember is mastery over the flesh is a recurring theme in the new testament.

However, God gave us intelligence and the freedom to use it. I believe medicine and doctors benefit us, why should we forsake that?

Heh, is pot smoking a sin?

Paul says all things are lawful but not all things are helpful. I think that might be the case here. Not a very good witness to spread the gospel and be stoned at the same time.

Sometimes it's a good thing. Especially for depression caused by a chemical imbalance. That is a very real thing, and treatable. We want to have life and have it more abundantly - and sometimes those kinds of drugs can help us!

It depends.
It depends on the reason for using them.
If one does it for entertainment value ....no.
If one is dying and in severe pain .....possibly yes.
Anywhere in between those 2 extremes is a matter of conscience.
However, even if a christian can ....he would not want to abuse, or take unnecessary advantage of the situation.

I feel it is okay for anyone to use antidepressants if their problem is from a chemical imbalance, or even emotional.

What I'm against is abusing it, becoming dependent on it and replacing your dependency for God with a dependency on drugs.
