The instant Gertrude got on the airplane, she killed everyone on the plane, including herself. She didn't mean to do it. No one saw her do it. She is innocent. She was never blamed for it.

Is Gertrude a person, or the name of an inanimate object? Just because the instant she got on, she killed everyone....it doesn't mean they died instantly, necessarily. She could have infected them instantly and then they died days/weeks/years/whatever later. Did they die instantly?
