Use a cooler and freezer packs. Finger food is best. Crackers, grapes, cheeses. Bottled water. This is so very nice of you, she should love it.

If you don't have a cooler - bring foods that don't have to be refrigerated, with no dairy. You could make pasta salad with a vinaigrette dressing so it won't spoil. Cut up veggies you like, cook your favorite pasta. Run cold water over the pasta and mix with the veggies and dressing. That would be good and filling, and not much money. That, some fruit and water or juice would be great. Don't forget something chocolate for dessert!

You can get those plastic cooler packs that you freeze for relatively cheap at any store like Walmart, Meijer, KMart etc. Put those in a styrofoam cooler and you are good to go!
