My Dad sometimes leaves his Bible in the car, but I was thinking the other day would it be a bad thing if a thief accidently or intentionaly nicked it.

That's quite an interesting question. I guess it would still be technically "wrong", to steal something that belongs to someone else, even a Bible. But on the other hand, God's Word belongs to all of us. Personally, I would be more than happy to give someone my Bible if they needed it, and I'd replace it, or I'd be happy to find them another one.
It's not difficult to come across a free Bible. Many churches have stacks of Bibles to give away to people who need them.
God says, "If you seek Me, you will find Me."
To mourn the loss of your Bible - wouldn't be because God's Word is gone. God's Word lives forever. I can understand how it would upset someone that their Bible which they personalized (through highlighting, making little personal notes, writing family history inside the cover, etc) is now gone. Some people specifically like a certain size print, leather covers, Bibles with study guides, etc. So, yeah, I could understand someone being upset about it. But they would also have a reason to rejoice.

lol good question! I think it depends... if the person stole it just for the hell of it and stole other things along with it that would be horrible! but if the person saw the bible and never had one or didnt know where to go to get one and just wanted to get to know god better then i dont really think it would be bad just cuz its kinda sharing gods word but then again the bible could have been given to you by someone and have centamental value soo yea i think it would be bad since u can get bibles for free anyways lol :)

There is no need to steal a Bible as they are freely given away by several groups, however, if one so strongly feels the need to steal a Bible, then that person needs it more than I.
I can always go get another.

No because the person has committed a crime and Yes because if the Bible is used properly, the thief could learn how to live right.

It would be a great thing, "IF" the person who stole it reads, beleives and excepts Chirst. Then they would bring the Bible back and pass the Word on to others.

Usually if a person wants a bible they can get a copy for free from many resources. Theft is not necessary.

Thou shalt not steal. Commandment breaker.

Plus, many places offer Holy Bibles for free. Just ask.

Stealing a Bible is the same as stealing anything else. It is a book, nothing more, nothing less.

Stealing a Bible?

Might as well call up Hell and make a reservation.
