It started by email and the phone. We have just recently met and to my surprise this woman who was very beautiful has put on a lot of weight, more than I could have expected. I find that I have old feelings for her but I am a little put off about the weight. What should I do?

Wait....so let me get this straight....

You're a big-boned guy, and now that you've met your former flame again, she's gained weight....and YOU'RE not attracted to HER.

Humph!

Well, that's you're right. However, I am going to point out the BIG OL' IRONY in this whole thing. What if she was put off by your weight, but enjoyed your personality so much she decided to continue to see you; pushing down that apprehension about your appearance.

You're not mature enough to look past that if you really like her?

Or, do you really like her at all?

You need to do some self- reflecting on your own self hatred.

well, i WAS a heavier guy and lost 50lbs. I recently had dinner with my ex and want her back so much. however, she barely commented on my weight loss. It was a "so, you lost some weight?" that was it, no discussion, no "you look great," nothing. I came away pretty down. although I have done it for me, I was hoping to impress her with my physical change anyway. So, my point is, in your case you went home and thought.."hmmm, she gained weight, don't know if I have interest." In my case, she went home and thought..."hmmmm, he lost weight, big deal, It still does not matter because of this and that." So, it is just such a wild card when trying to rekindle I guess...you seemed to want to see a good physical improvement, I had the physical improvement but it did not matter. Look, losing my weight was one of the hardest things I have done in my life. If she drops her weight (maybe she is motivated now after rekindling with you), then please let her know how impressed you are. I get soooo many compliments from people in my life, but just not from the girl who used to tell me how much she loved me. good luck to you.

Well, as you said, you are heavy as well. If you have feelings for her, let them grow. Do fun activities together and you may both lose weight. Love can do a lot for people.

If you are really into her, you'll look past the weight and not worry about it. but if you're worried about her healt, suggest that you too walk together.
