God no matter what you may call Him is generally the same everywhere the peak of morality embodied...far more than that but for the purpose of my question it will suffice.

Most religions have a central head figure that we refer to most commonly as God. And most religions forbid murder not killing. If you do some research you will see that in days of old these words had extremely different means and applications.

Well, people have free agency to use, and even though they may believe in God, they still exercise that free will and do not think of the consequences at the time. It's sad really, if you think about the fact that Satan has a perfect knowledge of God, which is something we probably won't get as mortals, and he still does what he does even though he knows what he knows. The world would be a better place if everyone could just follow the simple commandment of "As I have loved you, love one another" (John 13:34)

We apparently share a reverence and awe of G-d. However, the commandment in the Christian Bible does not say 'kill' It says. "Thou shall not commit murder." (a specific type of killing) Other religions have even stranger directions. The Torah recounts that g-d killed people on many occasions as retribution. The Quran (and Hadith) make it a commandment that the true believers kill infidels and jinns (? their own who do not believe correctly) and offer wonderful bliss if one kills as a jihadist. There have been many religions throughout history that extolled human sacrifice also. So, I feel that we must look inside ourselves and determine that we as individuals should consider human life precious and always refrain from taking one. This is hard to accomplish if you are sent off to war, BTW.

every religion does NOT acknowledge it is wrong to kill.

in islam, killing is the ticket to heaven.

in Christianity, certain forms of killing - for example, killing a person while you are defending your child from an attack - is permitted.

Even Jesus did NOT object when the 2 thieves were crucified with Him, nor when He Himself was killed.

P.S. God is not the same everywhere. Jesus said the path to heaven is through Him, not through bombing a bakery full of Jews. THAT "god" is satan.

Most people that believe in God don't kill anyone. Just because you believe in God doesn't make you perfect. We are human and therefore sin. The difference is if you are saved and are remorseful you can ask for forgiveness from God and he will grant it. You are not specific enough with your question. For instance I am not going to just go out and kill someone, but if someone comes into my home and threatens me or my family ( as much as I would hate to ) I am going to shoot them. They should not have put themselves or me in a position where I have to make that choice. On the other hand you may have someone who is on drugs go out and shoot someone dead, and find God after they go to jail. They should still pay their debt to society, but when they ask God for forgiveness ( if they are really remorseful) he will forgive them.

Good question... wish I had the answer for it. lol I'm not sure why people who claim to follow a peaceful religion seem to cause the most problems using that religion. Seems they've all done it (including ancient Pagans - especially in Egypt and Rome)

Just because a person believes there is a God does not make them a Christian, or make them believe in things that are right. The demons in hell believe in God, they know that he is real and they tremble at the sound of His name
