i was told that if you have a new (bought within the last 5 months) computer ( don't know if it applies to only certain types of computers....dell, or whatever), you would be albe to get the new windows vista downloaded for free...anyone know this to be a fact or where i moght find out that information? thank you!!

If you bought computer with a free Windows Vista expres upgrade then you can upgrade it for free, period. Otherwrise you break the law.

Yes... you don't download it ...they ship you a DVD.
But 5 months ago may have been too soon & not qualify.

This isn't true,some PC or notebooks (about all of new ones) are only Windows Vista capable hardwarely,but it doesn't mean that you can download or anyhow upgrade your OS to Vista,You should purchase one of eight kind of windows Vista.

You can get any thing for free if you pirate it. As far as receiving it because you have a newer computer, I haven't heard this anywhere, and neither has my friend who is a compusa "Vista Expert"

no whoever told you that has a big promise which cant be fulfilled and no there is no such thing but nontheless you can get it for free just not legally and it takes about a week to download of of shareaza at shareaza.com

Not legally, but I expect you can get an illegal copy if you look hard enough. If Dell or someone do have a deal, ask them, but it's nothing to do with Microsoft...

No you cannot download it free, you have to pay for on Microsoft download center.
