Try a 2005/2006 Corvette.
It's a hard question especially since there's no way for us to know what kind of cars you like or would consider. Giving a list of choices would've helped.

Take $35K and flush it down the john before you leave home. Use the remaining 5K to buy a used classic. This will keep you from feeling violated once you drive off the lot.

At less than $35K, I like the Ford Mustang GT convertible with the V-8. It's quick, reasonably comfortable, and, in the right color, a babe magnet.
