literally overnight, since i hadn't noticed it previously, the skin on my right earlobe suddenly became dry and scabby! i do have pierced ears but haven't worn earrings in quite some time, and it's more to the edge of the earlobe and continues to the back a little. when i touch it feels kinda scabby and it hurts a little (like extremely dry skin)... and the coloration is red and looks a bit raw! what can this be??!

omg thanks all for ur answer~ i just remembered this morning that i had accidentally "grabbed" my earlobe w/ my hair straightener (it gets Very hot). at the time it didn't seem burned, so i forgot about it, but now i guess my skin is reacting to it. thanks a lot for ur help~ (and i'm sooo happy it's not a skin disease!)

It sounds very much like some form of dermatitis (inflammation of the skin) like eczema or a reaction to something. Make sure you keep it clean and moisturise moisturise moisturise with a very simple moisturiser like sorbelene - no fragrance, no lanolin and no alcohol (in the moisturiser) Try not to wash it with soap or a bodywash with fragrance either. If it doesnt start feeling better in a few days go and see your doctor. They can have a proper look and will probably prescribe a steroidal cream to reduce the redness and help it heal. Good luck!

Hey,
I can't tell you what it is or even what may have caused it... but I do know a product called "Lucas' Paw Paw Ointment" - works a treat on all sorts of ailments, and is a great lip balm too! Find it at some pharmacies/chemists or health food shop. Comes in a red tube or tub.
Cheers

Go to your Doctor
he will give you a suitable cream for your particular condition .
Do not dabble with over the counter medication that could make matters worse

With the right cream ,
anti -fungal / anti-biotic / or whatever the doc prescribes ,
it should clear up in a few days

Dont leave it ------- see your doctor

all best

It's probably just that flesh eating disease. Usually, they can stop it before it takes too much of your face.
