Over the last 2 years i have grown really to like a guy that I come into contact as part of my business for a few mins a day most days of the week, one day in the summer I was totally brash and out of character by looking him up and down like I really wanted him, (must of been a pretty hot day) and he got very nervous and started dropping things, I started giggling, but he just got more nervous, feeling a bit guilty about my actions I cooled off a bit, ever since then I have chatted with him, and seem to have been gaining his confidence little by little. Recently he has been speaking to me in a soft voice, always saying Hello in a pleasing tone, I like holding his stare, he seemed pretty pleased about it last time I looked at him that way, that "I know she fancies me" kinda smirk but not sarcastic if you know what I mean. Now the thing is I can't tell if he first of all fancies me, and secondly I can't tell if he is married or in a relationship. I really like him what do I do?

thanks for the replies, although I am not sure about the "grow up" comment, I am very shy myself, I almost did ask if he was married last time I seen him - he doesn't have a ring, as I touched his hand once when he handed me an item (not that kinda item neither) I am just terrified of rejection. I know I should just ask him, then this nightmare shall be over with, thanks everyone for your support, shall keep you updated eeeak!

Dane, from the way u act with him i'd say u feel very confident around him and that u trust him. With that kind of a relationship it shouldn't be hard to steer the conversation to the heart of the matter. From the way he responds to u it's obvious he fancies u. Now about him being single, well, just ask him for crying out loud. If he is single he will respect & appreciate ur asking him, if he is not then he's already failed u by leading u on and isn't worth u.

I know the problem! I love to flirt, but deep down I am not confident at all. What happens is that I dont like the guy, but flirt anyway. Then he responds, and then I fall hard, and then realise this guy doesnt like me in that way, or he is attached.

Play it cool, and if he cools off more then he isnt interested, but then if he is shy this could be a deterrent. Ask him out at lunch for a drink, and take it casually from there.

Its always difficult to know what to do in these situations, you sometimes just have to take the plunge and be brave, is there anyone at work who might know more about him? if I were you I'd continue the way you are for now and build a friendship first, then ask him out for a drink at lunchtime or after work, life's too short to worry about these things, go for it! Whats the worst that can happen, in my experience you always end up regretting the things you dont do, not the things you do do.

Okay first, don't go getting all crazy for this guy if you do n't even know if he's MARRIED. Hello, check for a ring or ask around. The worst thing you can do is fall for a married or attached guy.
He seems nice but it may just be a working relationship.
however, ask around! And good luck!
