I met this guy online and it happened that he was going to a city near where I live for vacation. We chatted a few times online and enjoyed each other's company. So we decided to meet for dinner in my city ( it was actually his idea) then he would leave the next day to travel across the country.

However, he has stayed for almost 2 weeks now. I showed him around the city and also cities nearby. We had a great time together. On the birthday card he gave me he wrote that he had to leave soon because he had started to like me a little too much, and his trip later would be lonely without me.

I can tell he likes me. Nothing has happened between us though except for a kiss from him on my cheek at my birthday dinner.

I like him and really want him to stay longer. And on more than one occasion I felt like kissing him but didn't since he never really kissed me. He told me before he was shy.

So should I make the first move. And is it ok for me to ask him to stay longer

I do admit that at times i myself feel confronted with the issue of weather to make the first move or not sometimes i dared not but sometimes i did it! So, please its the 21st century, 2007 and so just dare for it sweetie. Its been too long that females have been oppressed. Just go for it. After all, he has admitted that he is shy and if you dont make a move now, you might regret for a lifetime, what if he is your soul mate (its a whole different concept whether you believe in soul mates or not) ? well, life is short so just sieze every opportunity, time lost wont come again.

I've met my soul mate by some online chatting system as well, but we cant be together for various reasons. Yet, I'd like you to ensure that he is not already having someone in life, you have been chatting with him only; you have believe in his words but please try to find out additional information for example if he is already having a girlfriend or worst come to worst if he is already married. This is really important!

So, just talk about it, express your feelings (after analyzing your findings). He has already made a step forward by saying that he likes you a lot, perhaps he is waiting for yours.... Good luck!

I would advise against asking him to stay longer but be bold and make the first move. If anything, he will say that he likes you that way or not and clear everything up. If he does not want a relationship like that, he's leaving and who cares? If he does, then you two can work on your long distance dating.

Very difficult to advise on this. You are the one on the scene and you are probably the better person to judge. I would probably make a move, but a cautious move and would not get into it deeper. Just enough move to test the water and see how it develope.

I would try, for instance, to find out more about him, his family, background, status, etc., etc. If he is interested he would definately reveal more about himself. You can recepricote and take it from there.

tell him that you like him...there's nothing wrong making the first move as long as you know that he's the one for you...good luck!!
