How nursery education providers are inspected

We inspect nursery education providers at least once every three years. A childcare inspector will arrange a visit where they will look at the progress children make along the stepping stones towards the early learning goals, as set out in the Curriculum guidance for the foundation stage. These visits are normally conducted without any notice.

no but explain (if it is bad news) that you recently inherited the playgroup and all its previous problems, and that you are willing to work with OFSTED to make it a happy and sound environment for the children.
