Anyway now again today i have a sore throat again right at the back on the tonsils, cant see any red or white spot, but very sore to swallow even saliva. Do you think i might have strep throat again. It sounds like you have it again. If you didnt take the full course its a 99.9% chance that the bacteria has come back. The other thing is the bacteria that caused your strep throat last time might be resistant or some of the bacteria might be resistant to the antibiotic you took last time. Go back to your doctor and they will probably prescribe you a different antibiotic. Strep throat is not something you should leave and hope it gets better. If it's left you can get extremely sick, so best to get on top of it quickly... plus the sore throat you get from it is excruciating.. at least it was when I had it. Hope that helps.

You may still have some of the infection, but it has created an absess on your adnoids. My daughter had the same thing. They gave her a penicillian shot and some pretty strong antibiotics and they seemed to have worked until the meds ended. She started having the throat pain and swelling again so I took her back to the doctor. THey referred me to a specialist that day as an emergency appointment. The adsess on her adnoid had doubled and needed to be drained. Although the meds had killed most of the infection, there was so much swelling the first time that it created a pocket that not all of it was absorbed back into the body. She was back to normal within a few hours because that pain and swelling in her throat was gone. Now she had to take additional meds to make sure that all of it is gone, but in a matter of minutes all of that pressure and pain was gone and she felt a 100% better by the time we were leaving the doctors office. Good Luck...

You probably do. If you live with anyone (kids, spouse, significant other) they could be carriers of strep. I have a friend whose family is this way. Her husband gets strep and they ALL have to take antibiotics. Her and 2 of her kids are carriers but never catch it. So, this time you may want to have the others in your household tested as well as yourself.

Sounds like it - I used to get it recurring all the time. You will need to finish a course of antibiotics and replace/sterilise your toothbrush regularly. Thankfully I havent had it for some years but you have my sympathy.

You should really replace your toothbrush everytime you are diagnosed with strep. It carries the germs and you continue to share your own bacteria. Kinda gross, but very true

Unless you have any exudate on your tonsils it's unlikely, more likely to be viral try taking Strefen lozenges. They have an anti-inflamatory in them like ibuprofen and work really well and you can get them from the pharmacy

I think it is only the recovery process. Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience. You can find some good home remedies at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html

sounds like the antibiotics didn't take care of it the first time...you'll have to go back and be put on stronger ones.
