There are two principles here.

Don't be friends with Jews or Christians:
Sura 5:51: "O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for your allies and protectors: They are but allies and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust."

Kill disbelievers:
Sura 2:191. "And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith."

Jihad was made permissable to guard the Muslims, Christians and the Jews because they are God's followers. In the event of a war the Muslims have to protect the people, property and churches and synagogues of the jews and christians. Would the Jews and Christians protect the Muslims and their property if the tables turned... guess not. But, God has ordered the Muslims to protect you. Peace:

[22.38] Surely Allah will defend those who believe; surely Allah does not love any one who is unfaithful, ungrateful.
[22.39] Permission (to fight) is given to those upon whom war is made because they are oppressed, and most surely Allah is well able to assist them;
[22.40] Those who have been expelled from their homes without a just cause except that they say: Our Lord is God. And had there not been Allah's repelling (stopping) some people by others (other people), certainly there would have been pulled down cloisters (monastries) and churches and synagogues and mosques in which Allah's name is much remembered; and surely Allah will help him who helps His cause; most surely Allah is Strong, Mighty.

Murtada, seek forgiveness from God, for God is most Gracious, Most Forgiving.

I'll give a dozen verses if you can show me one where the Qur'an teaches Muslims to kill Jews and Christians. I know you can't. Infact, email it to me, I don't feel like coming back to this question because the question has already been answered even though you don't want to accept the facts.

Have a very good day. :)

Jesus was sent by Allah, who supported him with the Holy Spirit, to tell the world Allah's will (2, 87; 5. 110-117*).

Given that the Koran is considered to be the word of God by Muslims, and there can be only one messiah, therefore Mohammed was a prophet, while Jesus was the son of God.

I'm providing you with an answer to your question; I am NOT interested in feeding your pathetic editorial directive.

U didn`t get the info fully then. He said well-treat jews&christians, which we do. However, if either did something against us..we FIRST use peaceful talks for MANY MANY times..but if insisted on causing us damages? We obey what god said(bad word for a bad word..a spank for a spank..& so on) So i think our religion is very fair, since it tells us to respond by the exact same action after long long many many angelic negociations. What do u think?

YUSUFALI: This day are (all) things good and pure made lawful unto you. The food of the People of the Book is lawful unto you and yours is lawful unto them. (Lawful unto you in marriage) are (not only) chaste women who are believers, but chaste women among the People of the Book, revealed before your time,- when ye give them their due dowers, and desire chastity, not lewdness, nor secret intrigues if any one rejects faith, fruitless is his work, and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost (all spiritual good).

in this verse God declared that He allows Muslim men to marry Christian and Jewish women, and God and the prophet taught men how to treat women and that is to be fair, to be mercyfull, respectful of them and to take care of them..

PICKTHAL: And argue not with the People of the Scripture unless it be in (a way) that is better, save with such of them as do wrong; and say: We believe in that which hath been revealed unto us and revealed unto you; our Allah and your Allah is One, and unto Him we surrender.

in this verse God is telling us how to discuss our religion with Christians and Jews...

"Allah does not forbid you respecting those who have not made war against you on account of (your) religion, and have not driven you forth from your homes, that you show them kindness and deal with them justly; surely Allah loves the doers of justice.

Allah only forbids you respecting those who made war upon you on account of (your) religion, and drove you forth from your homes and backed up (others) in your expulsion, that you make friends with them, and whoever makes friends with them, these are the unjust."
[Qur'an 60:8-9]

---------------

I believe that includes Jews, Christians, and everybody else.

TAKE THAT

Some people claim that Islam urges hatred towards people from other religions...let`s see if that's true or not.. we'll take verses from the Quran & see what it is mentioned

"God does not forbid you from showing kindness and dealing justly with those who have not fought you about religion and have not driven you out of your homes. God loves just dealers." (Quran, 60:8)

According to Islam, the righteous people from the Jews and Christians will have their Great Reward from Allah Almighty and will enter Paradise. Let us look at the following Noble Verses:

"And there are, certainly, among the People of the Book [Jews and Christians], those who believe in God, in the revelation to you, and in the revelation to them, bowing in humility to God: They will not sell the Signs of God for a miserable gain! For them is a reward with their Lord, and God is swift in account." (The Noble Quran, 3:199)

"Not all of them are alike: Of the People of the Book [Jews and Christians] are a portion that stand (For the right): They rehearse the Signs of God all night long, and they prostrate themselves in adoration. They believe in God and the Last Day; they enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong; and they hasten (in emulation) in (all) good works: They are in the ranks of the righteous." (The Noble Quran, 3:113-114)

"Say: 'O People of the Book (i.e., Jews and Christians)! Come to common terms as between us and you: That we worship none but Allah; that we associate no partners with Him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than Allah.' If then they turn back, say ye: 'Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to Allah's Will).'" (The Noble Quran, 3:64)

"Those who believe (in the Quran), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in God and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve." (The Noble Quran, 2:62)

"Nay,-whoever submits His whole self to God and is a doer of good,- He will get his reward with his Lord; on such shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve." (The Noble Quran, 2:112)

"Those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, and establish regular prayers and regular charity, will have their reward with their Lord: on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve." (The Noble Quran, 2:277)
