The answer is not easy since it depends on the organism and the type pf detergent being used. If you are talking Dry Laundry Soap on a human...I would say a whole lot of nothing. Some detergents are more abbrasive than others, so it really depends on the chemicals involved. Bleach would sting if there were open sores and you would not want to get it in your eyes or drink it. A very small amount of dish soap will kill an Earwig (small bug) since it plugs their breathing pores (they breath through their skin) I really do not reccomend experimentation on the variations...unless you are talking about Earwigs, I hate those things.

It would definitely burn it, depending on the "organism's" exterior.

Check out this link from the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). It tells you the effects it has on organisms/animals.
