If the fact that your brother died from an overdose doesn't wake your friend up to reality, then she really needs some professional help. Where does she get enough Oxycontin to take 10 a day? Is she stealing them or getting them from a doctor? She needs help. Let her parents know what is going on. You might be the one who saves your friends life by doing something about it. Don't be afraid that she will be mad at you, she will get over it. Good luck!

This person is going to die without help. Drug adicts are always in denial so what you need to do is take matters out of his/her hands. The way you can do this will not make your friend happy but it may save his/her life.

Call the police and report your friend's level of drug use. There is no way your friend is legally obtaining such a large amount of oxycontin so in some way shape or form your friend is breaking the law. Once in jail your friend will not be able to take any more drugs. The plea bargain will involve rehab too. You can do this anonymously if you like but you should really do it. Your friend's life depends on it.

wow. I just had a friend OD the other day on oxycotin. Something your oviously fimilar with and do not want to experience again. Some cant be helped unless they want help. The best thing to do is express the way you feel in the most emotional way you can. Show her how bad it hurts you to see her doing this to herself and even mention your brother. People like this need firm and constant reminder of how bad you despise what it is they are doing. Be mad, angry, sad, tell her when she's even on them how much you like her better when she's not OC'ed out. GoodLuck..and something i wish i would have done... Talk to her about it alllll the time. ( my friend was also a female) :O(

My sister's brother-in-law died from an oxycontin overdose, too, and I know what you are talking about. Does she have family that could have her committed? Is she taking them legally? What she is taking is very extreme, but you know that. If she's taking them illegally maybe you could take that avenue. I'd rather her be mad at me for turning her in than for burying her...........I'll say a prayer.

This is soooooooooo sad!!!!!!!!!! I have had several friends die from overdoses, like mixing meds and not knowing they are lethal together????? Your friend is not going to listen to you, she is in such denial and will continue to be in denial bc she CANNOT think straight from all the dope!!! I think the ONLY thing you can do IS go to the police, yes, i hate that too but would you rather be going to her funeral? This way she will HAVE to sober up in jail and then maybe she will have a chance at a normal life...........good luck to you sweetie. I know it's not easy but at least she is lucky that she has a friend who cares as much as you do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
