I recently had to reboot my os, and i'm installing everything back on, but for some reason i can't get microsoft office back on, i've tried 3 different versions, and when i try to install, the error message keeps saying the specified path is missing, so unless someone knows what this means, then is there another program i can use similar to word, because is the only thing i need to type my school papers.

Wish you had listed what file is missing. That would help in telling you how to reinstall Office. Odds are, what you are missing is NOT a file for Office itself, but a file for some software program that adds itself into Office (such as the Palm software, Adobe Acrobat, and hunderds of others).

Go into the Control Panel and under Add and Remove Software. look down the list of installed software and see if Office is listed. If it is, try clicking on it once to highlight it. You should get a Remove/Change button. Click on it and try running a "repair" of Office. That should return everything to the defaults and may let you reinstall it.

Google has a FREE online word processor called Google docs.

It will read all your Microsoft Word files also.

The cool thing too is that you can store all your files on the web and access them from anywhere you have web access.

There is a program that is EXACTLY like microsoft, and it is called WordPerfect. It's set up a lot differently than word, but it had all the same features.

go to "start", "programs", "accessories", "WordPad"
That's another Microsoft word processor - that may be all you need.

Hi,

Of course, you could use Open Office.

It is free, and you can read word documents.

Best regards
