I had to have emergency surgery 2 months ago which entailed me being cut open downwards from my bellybutton down to where my pubes start. I am healed now, however there is a prominent scar.

I am a little worried: what will girls think of this? Is a it a big turnoff or no big deal? Is it disgusting or maybe it looks sort of "macho" in a way?

Consider yourself lucky; women aren't nearly as hung up on appearances as men. Just imagine if you were a woman asking men this question! No, we don't give a damn about the scar, especially if it's attatched to an intelligent, decent man who's worth our time.

OMG, no not at all. I actually love scars because they show in a metamorphical way how flaws are perfection. They tell lots of stories too which is interesting to me. I am a female with scars. I have one on my face which you really cant see all that much and I have one on each leg from accidents when I was a kid. My scars remind me of when I was a kid. They are a part of me. So, no, it's not a turn off to me.

Buy some scar healing cream if you still feel worried but I think it will be fine, scars are a converstation starter I have one under my left eye that looks like a simple wrinkle now but when I was younger I had a pencil slice my lower eye lid in half I can see perfectly fine and its fun to talk about now. Scars do heal with time

If a girl is worried about a scar, then she isn't mature enough to be in a relationship. Scars should not be either a turn-off or macho. They are what makes you individual.

if you only had the op 2 months ago the scar will still be red and obvious. give it 6 months to a year and the scar will probably fade to a silvery line. personally a scar on the body would not have any adverse affect on me, it is the person inside that counts and lets face it no one is perfect in every way.

It wouldn't turn off some people, but if people ask you about it, tell them you got bit by a shark. Laugh at the look on their face for a minute and then tell them the truth. That will open up conversation with humor and maybe people would look past your scar.

Put it this way, Do you know who the singer SEAL is? He has scarring in his face from Lupus I understand and he is still one of the sexiest men on the planet to me! I really don't even see the scar anymore because I am so taken by his persona and his inner sexiness. I am sure your scar won't turn a woman off if she is into YOU.

I don't think it's a turn off at all. This might sound weird but I actually really like scars... they show that we've been through things and survived them and it's made us stronger people...

Or, in my case, that we're accident prone! ;-)

Hope that whatever the cause of the surgery was is all fixed now. Best of luck to you.

No worrys man, scars are a tale of the life you led, whether you been stabed, cut or shot. But if a hottie asks you about it, you got into a fight or something of that nature and you got cut open.

I like scars. They show character and usually have an interesting story behing them (like emergency surgery!)
My man has a scar from open heart surgery all the way down his chest. I run my finger or tongue down it every day.
