If i had to make a model rescue shelter that could theoretically be used to keep stranded climbers/skiers warm in the extreme cold (-20), wat insulation should i use and what are these products R-values?

Depends on if the structure is intended to be portable or not.

If portable, you want something that will trap and isolate air (which has a very high R value, if you can keep it still; this is how cellulose and fiberglass batting in houses works).

The other consideration is if the insulative material is also supposed to provide the structure as well; if it is to hold the roof up, for example.
