OK. I think that I can make sense of this question.

In order to live in Canada, you need to contact the Canadian Immigration office and find out what the rules and regulations are. However, I THINK that either you, or your spouse, is in the military (US military, I'm assuming). In that case, you need to check with SJA (JAG) first and find out if you are legally allowed to live in Canada and work in the US military. There may be a clause in the Federal codes/USMJ that would prevent that.

Also, don't forget that shortly you will be required to have a US passport to enter the US, even if you are a US citizen

You need to be sponsored, to apply for immigrant landed status so that you can live there beyond 6 months, and work there. You can apply from outside Canada or inside. If you apply from inside you will not be allowed to leave once the paper work starts until you get landed. I assume you met a Canadian bf. You know you can live there for 6 months out of a time. Move close to the border live their 6 months then let him move to your place for 6 months. I had heard active duty from Niagara Falls NY living in Canada there is no law against it as far as I know. If your just dating do not do anything harsh. If your married then you need to check into it. Canada is not a communist country. One of my Sailors married a Canuck she moved to Maine to be with him. IT was quite easy for her...a lot easier than the avg Canadian moving down here. It's not against the law..Stop by and ask immigration at the border. Good Luck

you cannot if you plant to go awol. all the cases so far of soldierss fleeing to canada have been ordered to leave canada. if you leave the us mil and flee to caanda no more amnesty. i lived there for a time but my son is a us soldier. here are the laws of canada and the cases. if you are reservist you must report to a local reserve unit not available in canada. there are some legal us soldier there assigned to a base etc.

First you need phyco help to set you up for that life style, then you need a physical to see if you have a brain. If everything is ok, your benefits will follow you.
