Not as a general statement. Depends what kind of subliminal teaching is involved. Sublimal messages for consumer increase in a particular product - Bad. Subliminal teaching to learn (like your example) a new language - Good. So long as they are only aides, for we don't want people to become that lazy that they will devote no real time to acquisition of knowledge.

When used by the government, yes. We are probably all subject to numerous amounts of subliminal advertising and such every day.
So I guess one more can't hurt... especially if it's actually helpful to you.
Give it a shot and let us know if it works out, I want to learn Portuguese!!

Having something uplifting and or helpful for a background in order to participate in it would likely be helpful. Subliminal I believe implies something akin to hypnosis, which I am NOT in favor of!

They're not inherently bad, as long as the person consents to using them. They're fairly ineffective though. Subliminal messages are far, far less likely to be remembered.

Well, depending on the topic. If it's something like religion, then yes. It's called brainwashing if you do that. But like learning subjects for school, like language, history, art, whatever. Religion, not sure that's such a good idea.
