Being an insurance agent can be a lucrative position if you are good at it.

As far as if it is boring or tiring that all depends. There are many different types of insurance agents.

There are those that service auto insurance, homeowners insurance, rental insurance, and of course life insurance.

If you want to sell life insurance you need to know about the different kinds of insurance there are out there. Some life insurance agencies require you to find your own leads and some provide you with some. There are long hours involved. You may be sitting with a client on a Tuesday night at their home until 10:00pm or even later. If you think you are a great salesman and have the time to invest then I say go for it.

I love it!!

It's a fascinating job, if you like finding creative solutions and reading contracts. I happen to LOVE doing those things. If you don't like reading contract language, and don't like being bogged down with details, you'll probably hate it.

It can be very well paid. Most jobs are straight commission - so you get out of it what you put in to it.

Basically, you round up people who want insurance, evaluate their need, and round up a company that has a product that matches their need, and do the paperwork for both sides. If you do a good job at the selling end, you won't have problems/complaints with uncovered claims, as the clients either KNOW they weren't covered, or they ARE covered.

Insurance agent - the one who sale or convince the people who want to buy an insurance, educational or pension plan.... You should have a convincing power so that you can sold your product that you want to sell...

Insurance agent is more on commission only no monthly salary. if you can sold more the big income you get.. You have your comission from your client up to 1 year their paying time...It depends how many percent did your boss give you.....

Maybe its not boring job because you meet different persons...But at this time our situation has a financial crisis so its hard to convince people to get that product...And one thing, what happined to CAP and to the TPG now....Some insurance company is not stable when the time come of availment of their client....

My Dad was in insurance for over 20 years, my father-in-law for almost 40 years. It does pay well...but the hours are long, the work pretty tough, and in most states (if not all) you will have to have a license to sell insurance. My Dad and father-in-law loved it...but, they are both "numbers" people (they like math) and both had the extra will needed to succeed in a very competitive business. Remember, you are selling an intangible (something you cannot see, feel, smell ) and for some, that does not come easy. But, if you are highly competitive and willingly to work hard, then insurance would be for you.....if not, find something else....

The job is like any other. It is what you make it. It can be interesting and high paying and it can be boring and low paying. It depends on you, your efforts, your ability to work on commissions and your desire to help others. It has been good to me and I have made good money. There are times I have wished I had done something else with my life, but it is what it is.
