The most prestigious branch is the United States Marine Corps. They are capable of air, land and sea. Special Operations capable and is now recognized by SOCOM. Able to respond within days. Slogan, "The few, the proud, the Marines".
The most important branch is the United States Navy. Their Aircraft Carriers are a floating city with a battle group consisting of Marines and fighter pilots. During crisis, the president's first question is always "Where is the nearest carrier?".

As a Marine, my answer is going to be biased for the 1st area of your question... the Marine Corps is the main prestigious. we are the main disciplined, have the final uniforms, honor our traditions greater beneficial than the different branches, and we are united statesa.'s first called in time of conflict. while presidents have demanded defense force updates, the 1st words they continuously heard have been "the Marines have landed and the region is definitely in hand." to this point as who's the main intense branch... no branch is the main intense. each and each branch has a different venture that enhances the different branches. The Marines flow in first and look after the objective, the army makes use of their ships and naval gunfire to transport the Marines and soften up the objective until now the Marines flow in. The Air rigidity factors air superiority and bombing. the army is the occupying rigidity. final, yet no longer least, the U. S. Coast look after keeps the homefront look after. i'm hoping this helps... good success.

pretigious: Marines, bar none.
important: Navy.
Others will say the Army is more important but the Navy has the capability for Naval superiority (naturally), Land superiority (via the Marines - first into battle) and quick air superiority (aircraft carriers). The Navy effectively encompasses the abilities of all the other branches.

If you look about who from a military background has been appointed to the highest positions in the land most of them have been Army. So by that argument:
Most prestigious: Army
Most important (in today's conflicts): Air Force

Each branch of the Military has it's importance and prestige. Each branch works with the other. One can not survive without the other. I have been in the Air Force for 18 years, I have worked with each branch of the service and have worked with different branches of other countries. They all rely on each other to "completely" fulfill their missions.

Branch of what?? A tree limb, the gov or what??? If you are talking about the military you will get no correct answer because people are bias and will pick the branch that they served or thier kin. Make yourself clear.
