Do well on being grounded and next time don't be late or if it is a thing you can't help call and let someone know why you will be late. You would be surprised how much that call will do for you. Parents I am assuming that call will let them know one things and that is that you know they love you and care for your well being and you give back that same respect for them so, that they won't worry.

That's all part of growing up. Sit out your punishment and when the punishment is over, apologize to your parents for disobeying them and leading them to mistrust you. Assure them that it will never happen again with out a phone call and possibly they will see that you have grown up a little and trust you more and then only good things will follow.

Try to be on time next time, or call to let your parents know that you're going to be late. Good luck!

Well if the crime fits the punishment....tholl it....if you feel it unjust then ...tell it....and if met with a wall.....deal with it in whatever way you see fit......but at least give the chance to dialogue
