Get it checked by a doctor.Could be anything. Sometimes you can get harmless growths called granulomas, fibromas, gangliomas, lipomas, etc. or cysts, but you need to get it checked out.
My sister had a golf ball sized lump on the side of her neck. The doctors were fairly sure it was lymphoma. I prayed really hard for her and they couldn't find lymphoma and didn't know what it was. In about two weeks it just went away...they still keep watch over her, but are also still scratching their heads...praise God.
She golfs and goes bowling. I told her it is probably from all the playing golf, she grew a golf ball....I told her for God's sake give up bowling, before she grows a bowling ball...LOL

I had one a long time ago and had it removed without problem or anaesthetic by the GP. It turned out to be no more than a bit of subcutaneous fat that had hardened called a wen. Not saying that your is the same, but it may be. A wen would not be attached to anything below and you can hold it between your finger and thunb and sort of move it around a bit.
Best thing is to see your doctor and let him/her check it out.

It's probably a harmless cyst-my partner has one on her back,Doc said it's nothing to worry about. But if I was you I'd get it checked by a doctor anyway-especially if you are worried enough to post a question about it!!

Please see your doctor. It could be your lymph nodes but see a professional just to put your mind at rest.
