Start with the American Heart Association website. They have a diet plan there for cardiac care, and are probably the most knowledgable in balancing cholesterol, reducing fat, and mitigating other factors that diet plays in heart disease.

I find that a lot of vegetarian recipes are much more heart healthy and they are usually easy to adapt to include meat (chicken or fish are healthier meats than beef). Some great cookbook authors, both vegetarian and not, are Mollie Katzen, Deborah Madison, and Sandra Woodruff. Also, a lot of the major food companies have put out Healthy cookbooks, including Betty Crocker and Pillsbury. And excerpts of those can be found online. Even just browsing online can bring healthy choices. Places like Allrecipes.com list the nutrition facts next to their recipes which is really helpful to us health-conscience people.

Many people ask me how they can slim down. I recommend that people eat right and exercise. However, if they would like a little "help", I suggest using natural Hoodia (it's important to note that not all Hoodia works well, even if the bottle says "pure" or "standard").

The Hoodia sold at http://www.browneyea.info/free-diet-pills.php is in my opinion the best Hoodia on the market. It's pure, has no side effects, and they give you a free 15 day sample (there is a $7.99 shipping and handling charge, but they also give you free recipe and diet guides). Fantastic results have been seen with this particular Hoodia.
