why should i not get it done if i am not black i no white people who have had it done?

Ok now you've explained yourself. It's not so much about whether you're black or white but more about the type of hair you have. Unless you have afro-carribean or really thick, curly hair, it will look very stupid.

That said, the reason it looks particularly bad on white people is because of our thinner hair and bright white scalps - it just looks unsightly and makes the wearer look ill!

I think we've all been guilty of admiring a style - hair or clothes - that doesn't necessarily suit us in life. Those stylish people among us just have the good sense to know what does and doesn't suit and avoid hideous disasters by letting go the ideas that don't suit them.

why do you care what a bunch of strangers are telling you about a hairstyle anyway? get your hair done the way you want. if you are questioning getting your hair in cornrows already before you even have them because of your race, just imagine how uncomfortable you will feel once you get them. you will probably be self-conscious and not even like them if you think people will look at you differently. it is just a hairstyle...not that serious.

i think they said dont get it done as it show the white scalp through and it dosent look as nice unless ofcourse your hair is blond it wont be so bad but it does look better if you have dark skin

I've seen it done and the scalp is really pale looking after the braids are in and it just looks funny, but that's my opinion.

But it's your hair do what you like.

it only suits certain people with certain hair and they are mainly black people , like in the rap videos they look good, i suppose it depends on your style and it you like the look go for it !
