I am planning a “devotional gathering” (an interreligious meeting for prayer) for people in my neighborhood. Most of the people coming are Muslims, but there will also be some Catholics, Protestants, Buddhists and Baha’is. I’m thinking the key is creating (and maintaining) an atmosphere of humility. Any ideas on how to do that? Venue is in a large home in Indonesia.

Keep the religious aspect out of it! Only the Catholics and Protestants would have a faith in common and the Jewish faith, if there are any! Keep the tone as how to help your neighborhood, of different faiths, respect the difference. Prayer of a Buddhist is not the same prayer to the same God as a Catholic, nor some of the others. Ask that each, when they return home to "pray" or "meditate" on whatever you discussed. I, personally would be very uncomfortable with another faith praying to a "god" that was not my own "God". Just my opinion. Hope it helps.

I dont think that is bibical. Mixed religions coming together and each praying to a different god. There is only one God and thats God the Father.

So you do not display anything religious in nature, keep the decor very simple, and neutral.
Do not use incense, or serve any food that would be offensive to anyone.
