I'd give three seperate Thank You's. Make each have a little personal touch, be careful though not to show any favortism.
EX- Thanks John for the thoughtful gift, It's great to work with a person that (add something personal) RE: sense of humor, great wardrobe, like musical tastes etc
You want to make them all feel equally appreciated for the efforts. After all it is a business relationship, would you send a blanket follow up letter to a prospective employer when you were interviewed by three departments? I hope not!

I was taught that when you receive a group gift that you should write a thank you note to each person individually.

My answer is, yes. The gift came from 3 people, so address the card as such.
Dear Molly, Susan and Joan,
Thank you for the wonderful gift. I really like it and will put it to good use. It was so nice of you to remember me on this occasion.

I would write each a nice thank you card! One thing tho...if they gave you money, don't mention the amount they gave you, just say "Thank you so much for the gift, it sure came in handy" or if they gave you a gift, say "Thank you so much for the gift, it really was so thoughtful & kind of you to do this for me". I write those in thank you cards all the time, it works.

I think it's best to think each individual person. I did when four people went in and bought me a shower gift. They each contributed something so the least you can do is take the time to thank each one personally.

I would still take the time to write 3. They each still took the money to purchase the gift.

Yes, that's fine. They gave a group gift so it is perfectly ok for you to give a group thank you.

Absolutely not. You would normally send a note saying something different to each one involved. Make it personal.
