Good for you as long as it is a comprehensive one, including minerals as well as vitamins. I have often been prescribed them by my doctor. If you are not on a healthy diet they are especially important

There is no right or wrong answer to that.
If you are deficient in a specific vitamin and can't find any way of getting it from your diet, then supplements can be invaluable.
Are you taking a multi vitamin for any specific reason? If not, and it's just for general health, then a) you might not actually need to be taking it and b) why don't you try getting the vitamins from food?
Unless you are actually allergic to a vitamin, I don't see how a multi-vitamin can be bad for you. None of them contain more than the recommended daily dose of any vitamin so if you follow the instructions, then you should be doing yourself no harm at all.

The combination of multi vitamin and mineral is the better option, according to my husband who is well into vitamins and minerals and takes a multi vitamin and mineral supplement daily.

Not bad for you and may actually help if your diet is bad. But do remember, vitamins A, D, E, and K are fat soluble. The rest are water soluble. Fat soluble means they can build up if you take too much...over dose if you will. So if your diet is pretty good and you feel fine, save the money. By the way, excess water soluble vitamins just pass thru the body in our urine....so no big problem there.

The human body likes to do some work to get the goodness out of food. I don't trust synthetic vitamins. Food effects absorption rates of vitamins into the body. It may be that the body doesn't like a big hit of vitamins all at once. Trust nature I say.

If you have a good diet then there is no need for these. If your diet consists of crisps pop and kebabs. Then you should take a one a day multi vitamin tablet.

If you can get all nutrients from your diet then it is better naturally than synthetically, in my opinion. However, if you don't get all the required nutrients from your diet (like many of us) then I think its a good idea to take a supplement - I do!
