For Christians: When you are persecuted and called names, and being mistreated, for believing in Jesus?

what do you do?

It sometimes happens in real life to me. I live in Scandinavia.

Sometimes I pray and sometimes it's really hard to forgive and turn the other cheek. It really hurts sometimes and I'm not a saint.

Practicing Christians of all denoinations make up about 2-3% of the population.

Of course we are not condemned to death or thrown into jail, and maybe I'm just bickering but the climate here is very antireligious, and anti christian.

Continue to read, study, and obey HIS WORD. Paul and the apostles were persecuted every time they went out after Christ arose into heaven. I am sure that you are living in a rather non-Christian area but it is much safer than Paul's in the Roman era. Keep praying that you might be able to convert those around you and study with as many as you possibly can. Some will never listen others MAY! Have a great day.

Frankly, I don't even understand how so many Christians living in developed Christian nations can keep on harping about being persecuted. It's not as if you're living in Burma, where people are threatening you to convert away from Christianity with the death penalty or jail sentences.

Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. As this scripture coming from Jesus' mouth says to rejoice and be glad for they are setting you up for heavenly blessings. Pray for them for helping you to build treasures in heaven and to come to the knowledge of grace and truth in Jesus.

But sometimes we sin and get really hurt and upset and cry and then post long silly questions of email strings about them as an attempt to make ourselves feel better!! :)

Not much.. It doesn't bother me, bc I know the truth, I got that settled a long time ago. I just remind myself that in the end, we'll see who's right and wonder what they'll have to say to Jesus when bowing at his feet.

1) They turn the other cheek and pray for them because their persecutors know not what they do.

2) Stand up for what Christians believe in,rebuke their persecutors' ways and sometimes give their persecutors a taste of their own medicine.

well, muslims are treated the same way, and u know what i do sometimes i bear and sometimes i try to know why they are doing this. They might be religion haters and they might not like wht I DO . try to know the reason before u judge. maybe the solution is in your hands.
