Depending on which way you want to write essay, you can make either look better. Here are some of my thoughts, hope they are of help.

Care Assistant Takes "Care" of the patients every need. Whither washing hair, changing bed clothes etc.

If the patient needs injections or procedures done a nurse would be more qualified than a care assistant.

Nurse has more medical qualifications on paper, but this doesn't necessary mean they are the best care giver.

The Doctor really only diagnoses problem and gives instruction for care assistant and nurse to follow.

Good Luck with essay.

In their own home, main differences as follows -

Care assistant may assist with day to day life including help with feeding at mealtimes, dressing, getting in and out of bed - general day to day tasks really.

Nurse, all of the above to be honest (if they are a real nurse who hasnt forgotten what it really means to be a nurse!!!) but the main difference here is that a nurse can administer medication.

A GP can diagnose illness, prescribe medication, and refer someone to hospital or specialist for further treatment if necessary.

Hope this helps.

A nurse has a license. There are two kinds of licensed nurses:
Registered Professional Nurse (RN), and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

The care assistants are the ones who just take care of the patients, maybe in old folks homes, etc. They did not get the training as those above mentioned nurses did.

Basically a Nurse is qualified and a care assistant isn't.

Additional: Soapbox Rab obviously doesn't know any nurses.
Take my word for it, the duties and responsibilities of a nurse compared to a care assistant go beyond a diploma and a uniform.

What level of education are you at? There as you spelled it should be their.

Just doing my bit to help you get a decent grade.

Care assistant has the responsibility for her duties but no overwhelming sense of responsibility as does registered nurse who is held accountable for her actions which involve decision-making and problem-solving as well as all actions. As someone pointed out either can be a good care-giver.

Nurses can supply drugs and inject. thay can also diagnose certain things. a care assistant is a helper to get someone assistance and to assist the nurse such as cleaning etc.

alot more education for a nurse! my mom is one and she has to know everything ,even if it means questioning a doctor about something he prescribed, because some times they don't slow down enough to read a chart, i don't know what we would do without our nurses! a care asst. is like there to do the simple things, like take temps.blood pressures, things like that

I think that the actual division of labor in the nursing field is "skilled" and "unskilled".

The "skilled" labor of course referring to the nurse and the "unskilled" labor referring to the assistant.

A registered nurse pointed me to http://care_assistantVS.youNursing.org and here I found all needed information about nursing such as nursing education needs, online nursing programs and valuable tips from very experienced nurses.

Just use the search box if the information you need is not displayed right away.

I am sure that this page will help you as well.

Good luck with your research on this
