To represent the Matterhorn; the creators of Toblerone were Swiss, so they were being ultra-patriotic!

its a swiss product and it represent the mountains of toblerone in switzerland, hence the shape plus i guess its good packaging style and efficient too.

because they tried to make it as a rectangle shape before but another company already had that idea so they had to make it in a triangular shape.i hope that story sounded convincing cuz i just made it up as i went along
