It's a very distinct possibility! Though no man can know the exact time, I suggest you read a book by Hal Lindsey called "The Rapture". In it, you'll find a list of of 20 significant Biblically-backed up things that Mr. Lindsey's research said MUST come to pass before the generation that sees Christ's return come to fruition. I've read the book several times, and cross-referenced his research and find that over the years since the book was published in the early 80's that 18 of the 20 items on the list DID COME TO PASS! All you really have to do, is cross-reference the Book of Revelation with the nightly news and you'll begin to understand how close His return is!

We are near the End of The Age, not The End of The World. That will only happen when The LORD Remakes The World at The End of The Millennium Period.

Bring it on if all the fundies get taken into heaven we can party with the anti-christ in peace.
Seriously, we actually face the threat that this could happen from an ateroid or an ice-age or climate change or a million and one things. However if it happens we wont know will we so why worry.

No one knows if thats going to happen. I remember when I was a kid, they said the world was ending within the next 5 yrs. I was scared to death. Thats been 28 yrs ago. I dont believe them anymore.

That would really stink!
My children wouldn't get to grow up & enjoy life as adults. I would miss out on proms, graduations, weddings & grandchildren.
