What is the word 'News' in Japanese? I've been looking on the net but I can't seem to find any decent sites.

actually there are "easy" and difficult words for the term "news,..the easy and most commonly used by the japanese is "nyu-su"
the and difficult and not commonly used terms are "houchi".."otosata".."shousoku" and
"onshin"..
but you'll be fine if you just use "nyu-nu"..they all know and use that..good luck!

If you mean as in News program, I think the closest you'll get is

Main-ichi Nyuuzu (毎日ニュース)

Which means daily news or rather "every day news".
