About three hours flight and a few more hours driving away, mate.
Perth is in Western Australia and snow fields are in Victoria and New South Wales - and only in Winter. If you are thinking about going to the snow fileds because you are coming to Australia within the next three months - you will not find snow ANYWHERE on the continent, mate.

The Australian Alps - southeast NSW, northeast Victoria. If you are going from Perth, you might as well go to New Zealand. The airfare would be little different from flying to Sydney. Much as I love skiing in Oz, New Zealand has higher mountains, better and more reliable snow and is cheaper. You also get duty free stuff.
