The bits everybody cherry picks for themselves are supposed to be true but even they aren't. If you are interested in truth try science or philosophy but theology isn't really a subject at all is it, you'd be better to ask a plumber or a baker about truth than a theologist.

The Bible itself says it from God, mankinds creator. All scripture is inspired of
God and benificial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for
disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

We would expect God's message to all mankind to be available around the globe. The Bible, the whole or in part, has been translated into some 1,800
languages. Its circulation totals into the billions. Says " The World Book
Encyclopedia". The Bible is the most widely read book in history. It is probably
also the most influential. More copies have been distributed of the Bible than of any other book. It has also been translated more times into more languages than any other book . ( 1984 ) , Vol.2 p. 219.

Many world leaders acknowledge that mankind is on the brink of disaster.
The Bible foretold these conditions long ago; it explains their meaning and what the outcome will be. ( 2 Tim. 3:1-5; Luke 21:25-31). It tells what we must do in order to servive the impending world destruction, with the opportunity to gain eternal life under righteous conditions here on earth.-- Zeph. 2:3, John
17:3, Ps. 37:10,11,29.

So stay awake as to whats going on in the world. Very soon you will see Gods'
Kingdom take over world affairs as mentioned in ( Daniel 2:44 )

Sincerely yours,

The part I like is when Joshua made the Sun and Moon stand still. That was Gods greatest miracle since Creation. I think there can be no doubt about the truth of the bible. Anyone can see from God's greatest miracle how the entire bible had to be Gods inspiration. There couldn't passably one word be untrue. BB

Some of the Bible is literary expression (like the Psalms, the Proverbs and the books of prophecy) and need not be proven true or false.

The remaining portions are based mostly on eye-witness accounts and can easily be shown to be in agreement with history.

Many parts have been verified by outside sources, and there are ancient documents that can be shown to be based on Bible stories. For example, the Sumerian myth "Enki and Ninhursanga" has at least 18 similar features to the Bible's Garden of Eden story, all of the features appear in exactly the same order as Genesis, and at the end of the myth, the goddess Ninti marries the main character.

(Ninti's name in Sumerian can be translated "lady of life" or "lady of the rib". In the story, she heals the main male character's rib after he eats poisonous fruit in the Sumerian paradise, Dilmun.)

Bible is a Religious Book of faith. We cannot pass comments whether it is true or otherwise. All depends on your acceptance of the Book.

The parable of the prodigal son.

In it Jesus attempted to explain to us that God is unconditionally loving. This was not accepted by religion because religion had too great of an investment in the good people bad people paradigm. Too great of an investment in vengeance disguised as justice.

For this reason this parable has always been misinterpreted as a story about forgiveness.

Probably a good deal of it. Short of independent verification from other sources, there's no real way to discern the truth from the exaggeration from the outright lie.

The important thing is whether or not the Bible presents a model of Deity that is meaningful and appeals to our highest possibilities - something that I can only answer with a resounding no.

Historically practically all of it is true. Anyone who says it is all false is a moron. Theologically, well thats up to you to decide whats true and whats not.
