Does anyone know where we can find the Kentucky Obituary Archives for March 1991? The obituary we are looking for is for the grandmother of a very dear friend. She passed away in Lexington, KY. but lived in Laurel County, KY. He needs the names and locations of her other grandchildren for his family tree. All the sites we've found that guarantee results, are questionable, to say the least. To test them, I have typed in weird text and symbols, etc. and was told they had the obituary we are looking for !! And to get it, enter your credit card #, etc. Red flag there. We're hoping someone out there knows a site or newspaper that archives Kentucky obituaries back that far and are actually on the up and up. We have run into so many brick walls, that we are very near to giving up. Any help would be greatly appreciated ...................................Jade

You will need to contact a newspaper in Lexington and check with them as to their obituary collection. Most papers keep obituaries for a long time; however, they may not be online.

The only other place that I know of would be Ancestry.com (I am not in any way affiliated with them, just so you know). They are having a "special" right now where you can join for $12.95 a month, so it might be worth that much to find the information you're seeking. They have a pretty good obituary collection online, as well as family trees and such.

Good luck in your research.

go to google.com put in free obituaries for laurel county then once you find a paper you can archive the date. make sure you put in FREE because a lot of sites charge a fee, and these are public records and should be free. good luck

Check with your local library and university. Often they subscribe to online news services and access could be free if you do the search from the library's computers.
