The Soul is a living breathing person with the blood going through them. a Living human Body is the soul we do not have a seperate spirit or soul we are souls even the animals are called souls in the Bible(Jeremiah2:34 ; Numbers31:28 ; Leviticus7:18 ; Ezekiel18:4)So when a person dies the soul dies too! This idea that the soul goes on living is the extension of the lie that Satan said to Eve in the Garden of Eden He said to her:"You positively not die." But she did die!And Adam died with her also

A human being has two bodies – the gross body (sthuladeha) and the subtle body (lingadeha). Along with this he has vital energy (pranshakti) that links these two bodies together.
When one dies, the vital energy is released back into the universe. The physical body remains on earth while the subtle body travels to a subtle plane depending on its merits or sins and its spiritual level. The subtle body becomes heavy due to sins and excessive ego and as a result gets stuck in lower subtle planes of existence such as the nether world. If the sins are intense then the subtle body goes to hell.

On the other hand, the subtle body becomes lighter due to good deeds (merits) and the intensity of spiritual practice. The higher the spiritual level, the lighter the subtle body and faster the progress during its sojourn.

This life-force is in each of the body cells of both humans and animals. It is sustained, or kept alive, by breathing. What does it mean, then, when the Bible says that at death “the dust returns to the earth . . . and the spirit itself returns to the true God who gave it”? (Ecclesiastes 12:7) At death the life-force in time leaves all the body cells and the body begins to decay. But this does not mean that our life-force literally leaves the earth and travels through space to God. Rather, the spirit returns to God in the sense that now our hope for future life rests entirely with God. Only by his power can the spirit, or life-force, be given back so that we live again.—Psalm 104:29, 30.

It doesn't really ever even do this. The body is more of an idea that the soul is having than a reality.

A human being's life is as long as his breathings are bestowed to him at the time of his birth. Saints undertake asnas and yoga, an essential part of which is stopping breathing. By doing so they save on their number of inhales and by law of nature, lengthen their life. Soul is the light of God in all of us and when we complete our alloted tenure on earth, the light of God (soul) is attracted to God, the source. Disease, body pain and all kinds of negatives causing death are just the means to death and not the reason. We are actors on the stage of life, we perform and leave place for other actors!

It is said that generally soul leaves body through one of the nine doors, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, genital & anus, only to return back after taking another body. Tenth door (top of head) is called locked door. When soul leaves through it, being crosses the cycles of births.

What a strange world! People talk of bodies and souls, but hardly anyone pays attention to his/her conscience, which ultimately decides what sort of a life we lead!

I have no idea. If a soul exists I have never seen one depart.

It is an invisible departure, from between the eyes, or, from the top of the head, depending on the way one has lived!
