I agree that it is vitally important to find someone who is willing to listen to your problems, and who has a wider view of life than just what is here and now. I benefited greatly from meeting with a Christian counsellor and also from the friendship of Christians of different age groups, backgrounds and cultures. I hope that you find someone that you can trust and who will really take the time to listen to you, and in prayer, listen to God, as He is the only one wise enough to give advise/guidance which actually works. You can feel free to email me if you want. I don't have any qualification in counselling, and I may not be the person that you need to help you find the truth, or give you the guidance you need, but I do listen well.
You can email me at ali_may67@yahoo.co.uk. I will seek to help, or, if it's alright with you, put you in contact with people who just might be able to.
God bless you

to those who thinks that being a spiritual counsellor is a bad thing, full of sh*t, and just plain stupid, think again. NOT EVERYONE is like that.
I came from a community of Youth for Christ Society, but i'm not exactly religious, rather a thinking Catholic. Faith brought me to where i'm standing, but i can assure you that i'm more af an @$$ to some things.
I can help you, both in spiritual and practical approach. I'm not going to tell you to follow the Church, or something, but rather what is the best.
buzz me anytime you're free. i'm in asia, so please be kind with time.

Dont do it go find a properly trained secular councellor for any psychological problems you have. See your pastor for spiritual questions.
A youthworker and a councellor in my church decided I was depressed (which I was) and that I couldnt trust anyone (which I couldnt) and told me they were going to council me. I was 14.
I told mine that I had wanted to kill myself when I was 12 and had blocked it out (which I had) she told me not to be silly I had just forgotton about it and it was normal everyone feels like that at one time or another.
I got worse as the months went on and stopped being able to eat, I was told to not let it become a problem when I first raised it as a worry. I dropped 2 stone and still struggle to eat properly.
I got worse I started to cut myself, I was told I was attension seeking - which made me feel even more worthless and made me starve and cut more.
I went from depresed and introverted to suicidal, self-harming and a real problem with food.
The youthworker and councellor had decided I was sexually abused and were waiting for me to get to that bit of the story. When I didnt get there fast enough (because it was true it just didnt come out or stop till I was 19 - nothing exessive just a little inapropriate touch but when it happens from 9 it can mess with your head.) They got bored brushed over every other problem or symptom leading up to it. At best they were trying to push me to tell them. I didnt even know what was happening to me because it was so subtle so couldnt have told them anyway.
So if you have to see a christian, find a councellor who also happens to be christian. Not a christian who happens to think they can council

It depends. Do you want a follower of the teachings of Jesus, or just someone who calls them selves a christian?
email if you are interested in the former.
Love and blessings Don

You don't need a counsellor or any kind of go-between.
You can know God yourself.
Listen to the still small voice within.

I found some christians who thought they could counsel as well, when they weren't proper counsellers, they weren't proper christians either, they were just ex students at this christian college who stayed on to become staff.
