You can buy a C.D with spanish language made for people wanting to learn the languages, look in travel section of book stores. I not sure how good it is.
Computer programs is another opinion.
Enroll in a Spanish class.
You can also watch dora the explora it in spanish and english so you may pick up a few words from it. It made for children but at least it has the basic.

I dont' know what to use to start learning Spanish, however to keep it up, use a book you know well in English....When I was in Norway (learning Norwegian) I bought The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, (Loven, Helsken og Kselscap). It helped pick up some words and I got a Norwegian/english new testament from the Gideons International which helped as well.

* Books won't do it. The best way is to move to a country that speaks spanish for 2 years and be forced to learn it, or marry someone who speaks it and all their family, or the most practical way is to find a friend who speaks it and get them to speak to you in spanish as they would if you were in their country.*

Post this in languages category you'll get better answers.

Instead of a book, I recommend (for beginners) the Pimsleur approach tapes, link below. I got their Modern Hebrew tapes and found the system worked really well.

The easiest way to learn is to move to Los Angeles. If that doesn't suit you, you can always go to http://www.byki.com/ . It is free, of course.
