i always take ibuprofine. i think they're pretty much all the same - best to ask in a pharmacy...
i've never taken asprin though, so not sure if it's better/worse than any of the others.

depends what it is for.
Ibuprofen and aspirin are anti-inflammatories, they are best for joint pains, toothache and other pains that may be caused by inflammation. They should be avoided by people with stomach problems and asthmatics.
Paracetamol rarely has any side effects and is a good all round pain killer.
Codeine is stronger than paracetamol and should not be taken frequently without the advice of a GP as it can cause constipation and is highly addictive.

It depends what you want the painkiller for. Personally, i use ibuprofen and paracetamol (not at the same time!). Ibuprofen is for muscle pains, stomach cramps, and headaches, whereas paracetamol is used as a stronger alternative for headaches and for fluey symptoms, such as a fever. Aspirin again is more for headaches, and in turn is stronger than paracetamol (as far as I know). Hope this helps.

Personally speaking i use to get bad migraine's in the past and whenever i felt one coming on i would take a paracetamol. It is very difficult to get over the counter tablets now with codeine in them.

Syndol is very good for headaches it contains a anti histamine to relax aswel as the painkiller. Stick with Paracetamol based ones i think they are safer. The Co-Codamol is good its a full dose of Paracetamol and 8mg codeine per tab. The paracetamol needs to be 500mg per tab, making 1g per dose for full effect.

Ibuprofen for muscular type pain (if it doesn't upset your stomach), paracetamol for headache. Codeine can make you sleepy, so not if you're driving etc. Aspirin's still good, but not regularly and not if you're asthmatic.

I wouldn't go with asprin. I always use Co-Codemol, (Codeine). Or paracetamol at a pinch.
Asprin thins the blood, and can affect your stomach if you have stomach problems.

Depends on what kind of pain. Syndol is very good for headaches, tho can make you feel a little sleepy as it has a muscle relaxant in it. Also, panadol is very good.
