I'm not all that sure on Montoya just yet. Sure he has done good so far but what's gonna happen when he gets to like Talladega or Bristol again. I think that he will have some problems but once he gets used to it that he'll be okay.

Juan Pablo Montoya's win at the Rolex 24 only shows that he is a great all-around racing driver. He has won championships in five different series including CART and Formula 3000. He has won races in every series he has been in, including F1. He is a winner.
Dale Jr. and Tony Stewart have had success in this race, as well. Casey Mears was part of Ganassi's winning team last year. Earnhardt Sr. and Jr., along with Andy Pilgrim, finished second in the 2001 GT class in a C6 Corvette.
Success in the Rolex 24 does not necessarily translate to success in NASCAR. Driving skill and a winning attitude always help. Montoya has both.

By the eighth race of the F1 season, the Toyota F1 team will need a replacement driver for either of the second raters they have. Given Montoya's past successful and friendly history with Toyota, he will be the first choice.
Montoya will be far enough ahead in NASCRASH points that he could return to the car after the F1 season and win the title even after missing 10-15 races.

No Montoya should have stuck to open wheel something he excelled at in Nascar he will not have the same deal he had there where everyone will move over if you are faster and in Nascar as we know so well though the sport is changing and taking the thrills out once you bump someone that is not used to they soon fizzle out

His win at Daytona is somewhat impressive, but he's been a road racer most of his career. He's definitely going to have bumps along the way, but I think he'll be okay. Of course, he has to go to Bristol and Martinsville in back to back weeks. I say if he makes it through that 1,000 lap segment of his NASCAR career, he should be okay.

I have no doubt that he will shine in NASCAR even thou his latest win is a team effort. But give him time and he will start winning races and why not , the championship.

I think he will be successful. His aggressive driving style actually fits NASCAR very well. I am thinking that in the 2nd half of the season when they are hitting tracks for the 2nd time, he will hit his stride.

As long as he keeps racing like the next corner is his last he will suck just like he did in F1. Sure he has had moments, no question he is a skilled driver, but at his age and experience level he shouldn't be making mistakes like the US GP last year.
