The soul may be in prayer no matter the attitude of the body.
Christ stood and prayed (John 17:1),
Knelt (Luke 22:41),
Fell on his face upon the ground (Matthew 26:39),
Solomon knelt (1 Kings 8:54),
Elijah prayed with his elbows on his knees and his face buried in his hands,
David prayed lying on his bed (Psalms 63:6),
Peter prayed on the water (Matthew 14:30),
The dying thief on the cross (Luke 23:42)
The Scriptures sanction no special bodily posture.

I don't think so, I know i've prayed in many places and situations when I felt it was neccessary.

I prayed whilst climbing through my garden hedge that the back door would be open, because I had forgotten my front-door key;

I prayed in the bathroom of my college, while crying, because I was under a great deal of stress and it was the only private place;

I prayed kneeling beside my bed, because time and circumstance allowed me to do so;

I prayed laying in bed, because it was flippin' cold! lol;

I prayed sat at the computer, because that's where I was at the time, and I was praying for someone I was talking to online;

I prayed in church, sat on a chair, with many other people;

When we are baptised, prayers are said in the water.

I think it does not matter where you pray - after all, in Biblical times, people would have prayed in the dirt, Jesus would have prayed while being lashed at the piller, while carrying the cross, and in many other situations. It doesn't matter where you pray, what matters is that what you are saying is heart-felt.

Peace and Love!

It only matters to you. I like to get on my knees and pray, I just feel I should. Its not wrong to pray laying in bed or standing up. Pray anyway you like.

If your health is good then you should pray on your knees as it shows a humble attitude before God,sick people can pray in bed as to do otherwise would not be sensible,sometimes praying while standing is a sign of pride,not always but sometimes,do it sparingly and only when you have to.

Kneeling to pray is a gesture of homage but praying is never wrong no matter the position

There's a story about a Dominican and a Jesuit who were discussing whether you could pray and smoke at the same time. (Understanding the joke means knowing that Jesuits have a reputation for high cunning). Each said that he would ask his confessor ... so the next time they met, the Dominican said that the answer was No, while the Jesuit said that the answer was Yes. Dominican is puzzled.

'It depends on how you ask the question,' said the Jesuit. 'What did you ask?'

'I asked if I could smoke while I prayed,' said Dominican.

'Ah, that's where you went wrong. I asked if I could pray while I smoked.'

If there's a God he has bigger things to worry about.

The Bible says that we are to "pray at all times." That covers every position. We cannot be on our knees at all times.

You pray anyway you feel like it. There is not a special way to pray ie, on your knees. When you feel like praying then pray.

Position doesn't matter. I've known people who prayed while they worked. When you begin getting a response from God, you'll realize that it's just a conversation, and you can converse any way you choose.
