I am almost forty, but not bad looking for my age, my problem is where can I meet a man. I don't go to bars and the supermarket hasn't been much luck. Any suggestions.

Church, bookstore, eHarmony, fishing hole, dance lessons, language class, toastmasters club meetings, and running in the park.

Through friends is definitely the best, but I have found through activities is great as well. Men love activities.
I have recently taken up golf and I swear I am the only girl in the entire driving range. Most of the guys are around your age too.
Also - indoor rockclimbing is gold, on wine tasting group trips, deep sea fishing expeditions. Horse-racing carnivals and F1car racing events are good too.
You have to go to an environment which is "man rich". Ha ha. I think a lot of guys don't love bars and try to get out of the supermarket as fast as possible. I've also met heaps of guys at night classes like cooking classes and language classes. And my kickboxing class is also 95% male.
Meeting a guy at this type of activity is much more natural and organic. You do something fun and new and meet lots of new people at once.
Good luck!

Don't even start. You're too picky. That's why you're still single. You have a list of requirements that no man on this planet can fulfill. You probably have unrealistic expectations. That is why you cannot find the kind of man you're looking for.
I think your other problems are that you don't go to bars and that you believe you can find someone in a supermarket. No wonder.
Do you actually expect a man to approach you at a supermarket ?
Do you expect us to risk imprisonment in case you think it's sexual harassment or stalking if some guy walks up to you and trys to pcik you up at the supermarket. I can just see my luck in this kind of scenario. You're standing there by the melons in the prodcue section. I walk up to you and say; " I couldn't help but notice those lovely melons. Do you need a hand with them ? "
My suggestion; Let me handle your melons.

Well I'm in my twenties and I often ask the same question...but I find that the best way to meet men is through friends. The more new people you meet, the more chances you have of meeting some interesting single men. The last 3 guys I've dated were friends of a friend (and one cousin of a friend) Plus there's always getting involved in clubs, church groups, whatever you're into.

i m pretty sure there are men all over, you dont have to go to the bars or supermarkets to meet men. when you stand at a road intersection and look everywhere you will see many of them.Just make the first move, maybe that will help you find on quick..

Join an interesting club or take a class---go to a museum, or the park---borrow a friends dog and take a walk--all guys love a dog. You need to appear approachable--check yourself out for hair, teeth, and clothes. Good luck and please---SMILE

Age should not worry you! Don't accept any man that comes in your way!! First clearly define what you want in a relationship, and go for it!! Good Luck....
