It is actually a disease and requires medical attention and rehab so it doesn't become progressive. If you have an addictive personality it will always be there you just have to decide what to be addicted to, for instance excercise instead of cocaine or marijuana.

People get addicted (not edicted) to drugs because they change your brain's chemistry and after awhile, you can't control yourself the way you could before you started taking drugs. Your brain likes the pleasure the receptors get from the mind-altering drugs and basically drives you to do more and with some people, that becomes a problem. It is very difficult to stop once you've become addicted.

Well cause some of the medications that they give you are very addicting. That is why doctors are being cariful what they give you and how long you are on them, and to make sure that they taper you off of them so you do not have withdrawals, and get 4 times worse then you were when you started to take them.

THERE ARE DIFFERENT TYPES OF DRUGS THAT CAUSE DIFFERENT EFFECTS IN MEN. I SAY THE GENERAL CHARACTERES 1)IT DIRECTLY CIRCULATES IN BLOOD AS SOON AS U TAKE IT(WITHIN MINUTES).
ANY SUBSTANCE THAT MIX IN THE BLOOD CAN REACH THE BRAIN EASILY. ONCE IT REACHES IT AFFECT THE CONTOL MECHANISM OF BRAIN TEMPORALLY.IF U TAKE IT FOR FEW DAYS YOUR BODY METABOLISM CHANGES AND IT WILL NOT FUNCTION WITHOUT THE DRUG AND ALSO THEIR FEELINGS..THUS THEY ADDICT TO IT
